Life is probably at its best when it isn’t too sweet and isn’t too bitter.

Too sweet gets boring. Too bitter and you’ve clearly overdone it. But somewhere in between there’s that perfect spot - enough pleasure to make you want more, enough friction to make you feel alive.

Bittersweet perfection.

That’s what I love about this cheetah. She’s literally just caught in the middle of doing her thing and somehow the pose is perfect.

There’s something very attractive to me about that kind of effortlessness. When you stop arranging yourself for the world and become completely absorbed in your own experience, things seem to fall into place by themselves.

The painting holds that same contradiction: softness and wildness, pleasure and danger, sweetness with a little bite.

Maybe perfection was never supposed to be flawless.

Maybe it just has to hit the spot ey?
